"Amazing course! Thanks for your insight into ‘connecting the dots’ on a subject that can be somewhat confusing for an engineer. Thanks as well for the handout material at the beginning of the course; I consider this the secret weapon that reduced my study time down to 1/3 of what I had originally planned. This course is a must for anyone who values their time. It's a good feeling to walk into an exam knowing what to expect and how to respond. The course was worth every penny ... great fun too."
"I would like to extend my sincere thanks for a fantastic weekend seminar! Not only did I learn a lot, I also had a lot of fun. You have demonstrated a natural ability to teach and your passion and energy for the subject matter was contagious. You were able to simplify subjective subject matter into succinct and clear points; for us anal engineers this is quite a feat. I thought that the course content was on the money and the pacing of the [seminar] seemed to work out great. I noticed that you gave us a lot of latitude to deviate on our own tangents, but you were also able to reel us in when we strayed too much. We covered a lot of ground and went over a lot of fundamental and conceptual ideas such as the foundation of torts and contracts. At the end of the weekend I was quite tired with my brain full of valuable information that I would have simply not acquired if I studied alone. I hope you keep teaching and educating as it is certainly something you're gifted with."
"I enjoyed your seminar immensely and I was thoroughly impressed with your knowledge of Canadian law and your ability to answer difficult questions."
"The seminar was excellent - and the [provided materials] were brilliant."
"I would like to start by saying that I felt the course was exactly the right blend of focii on each of the sections. The reason I took the course was the hope that I could have the broad scope of the material (presented in the texts) "whittled down" into their relevant cores. I was not disappointed. The exam, I felt, went well, time will tell, and the main reason for that was how prepared I was, thanks in large part to your seminar. Continue the good work, you are responsible for, at least from a personal perspective, a great deal less stress than could have been. Thanks again - I fully recommend the seminar to everyone preparing for the PPE!"
"You should patent the [provided materials] system. Very effective tool. I have to admit your overall approach to the subject made me want to learn more about the law (would have been a frightening thought under earlier circumstances). CHEERS!"
"I was very impressed with your seminars. Having no prior education or experience in law (and I mean absolutely none), I came away from the weekend feeling very much that I understood the basics of contract and tort law (at least as far as engineers are concerned). I was very happy [with the balance struck between law, practice and ethics]. I liked this balance ... I was also very impressed with your post-seminar follow-ups. Your emails were clear [...] and very helpful. I will definitely recommend the seminars to others."
"Firstly, I would like to thank you for a very informative seminar that was very well presented and to the point. I must admit I was hardly prepared for the Law session, however thanks to your method of presentation, I feel I now have a good grasp of the subject."
"I am so glad I took your seminar. It helped me quite a lot in answering the questions logically."
"[O]nce again, I want to thank you for your most generous guidance and effort since the time we first made contact. I am sure that I speak for all of your students in saying that you have certainly given more than you were obligated to."
"Words are not enough to express my appreciation for all that you have done, in explaining the course, and following-up with everyone 'til the last minute. I wanted to thank you Very Very much."
"I have nothing but praise for the seminar!"
"Thanks again for your help. Hopefully my other friends take the opportunity to learn from you as I did. I really believe that you helped greatly in my success."
"I just thought I would write a quick email thanking you for a packed learning experience this past weekend. I never got a chance to personally thank you at the end because my family was waiting for me. The information and your insight really helped me gain the ability to identify the issues and the questions on the examinations."
"It was a pleasure attending your seminar this past weekend. I feel much more confident now--than I did last week--about the upcoming exam. I have attended several seminars on technical topics in the past and have usually nodded off. It is a credit to your personality and style that kept the group focused for the entire weekend. I must commend you for this feat! I have a number of colleagues who have yet to apply for their P.Eng, and I will most certainly recommend you seminar to them."
"Thanks very much for all your help. I found that the course was very valuable for the exam and enjoyed your approach very much."
"I thought [the seminar] was a very concise summary of very broad subject matter, and while I am prone to asking questions which stray from the core content, I think it is important to stay focused on that core. I thought the format of the material was great, and I enjoyed the presentation style ... Whether or not the detail needed to glean the important results of a case are in the text(s), my interpretation of those cases and the reasons why they may have been overturned on appeal, changed after hearing you discuss them."
"Thank you once again for the excellent seminar ... When I saw the questions on [the exam date], I could easily recall all the discussion we had for two days over the weekend."
"Thanks again for your help. Hopefully my other friends take the opportunity to learn from you as I did. I really believe that you helped greatly in my success."
"I thought the seminar was excellent. You focused on the law aspects and that is where I was the weakest. Your approach and the [materials] are invaluable in preserving my time. On that basis alone ... Thanks!!! ... I enjoyed the seminar and you were able to take a topic that put me to sleep (literally asleep in 5 or 6 pages), make it interesting and sort of fun, give me the ability to learn the basic material which allowed it to be more interesting, while still providing focus and guidance. All in all I wish more of my professors in school had your knack."
"I found [the seminar] to be excellent ... The delivery of the information was interesting and kept me involved ... The bottom line herre is I don't think I have any constructive criticism for you. I will be recommending your course to my colleagues who will be preparing for the PPE in the future."
"The seminar was great. I found [the provided materials] to be very helpful. Just last night I spent time working on the first third of them and my girlfriend (who knows nothing about engineering law) was able to randomly quiz me on them. They are definitely a great help. I really like the way you laid out the typical law questions in an easy to follow format. I think I would have had problems summarizing the information from the text in such a neat and organized format (if at all)."
"Thank you doesn't seem enough. If not for that weekend in Toronto, I don't think I would have been ready this morning. You were able to reduce the entirety of the law text to bite-sized nuggets and that was a great help."
"I am writing to thank you for your seminar and for your efforts in helping me pass the PPE exam ... I would have no hesitation in recommending your course to others, and there might be a couple of my colleagues who will be taking the exam within a year from now to whom I will recommend your seminar."
"[The seminar] really, really helped ... you come across as being friendly, approachable, and as knowing this material very well ... The course is well organized ... The [provided materials] were a great idea. I don't think there is anything you really need to do to improve the course. Overall, it is very good and proved to be helpful. You are providing a valuable service!"
"I'd like to offer my sincerest thanks for your assistance. Without your seminar, I doubt I would have been able to extract the important themes nor made the connections that we discussed in class. I think you've developed a great product that is of immense value to applicants. I've spent much of the past 15 years interested in the finer nuances of instructing people, which is a big responsibility for army officers, either teaching soldiers or briefing senior officers. Similarly, I've spent many days suffering through bad instruction or poor speakers. It was refreshing to find someone who clearly understands speaking techniques, optimum use of training aids, and organizing complex content to assist understanding. Again, I thank you for your guidance and encouragement."
"I wanted to thank you again for running such a fabulous seminar."
"I'm delighted to let you know that I passed the PPE and wanted to thank you again for the excellent seminar that you ran in Toronto on the weekend before the exam. In fact, I'm ashamed to say that when I attended the seminar I knew absolutely nothing about the exam format or content. The clear and concise presentation was a great basis for a few days more of study so that when I sat the exam I actually felt quite confident."
"I just wanted to say thank you very much for the great help you gave us at your seminar [in London]. I've already recommended your seminar to two of my colleagues."
"I am really happy to have participated in the seminar. My level of confidence for this exam grew manyfold after the seminar and on top of that it was 'fun' to be in your class. Suddenly, 'Law' as encountered by engineeers in a professional environment does not seem to be a 'dry' subject ... Thank you very much for your efforts."
"I thought the course was great - I was not really sure what to expect but I thought it was worthwhile. I was expecting the days to be really long, but I have to commend you for keeping things moving along, and making it as interesting as possible. The time didn't drag at all. I liked the way the material was organized - it seems much more manageable than it did [the day before the seminar]. The main thing that I gained from the course was a well organized, methodical, efficient study tool. Yes, I could have been prepared for the exam without the course, but I would not have been as well organized and I think I would have been panicky and stressed. This allow[ed] me to study without those barriers."
"Many thanks for the informative course, your insight, and dedication in ensuring that we were well prepared for the exam. I learned a lot in this process and will hopefully be a P.Eng soon. I feel that I answered the exam questions in a comprehensive and accurate manner and was able to complete the exam early ... not a usual thing for me with respect to writing exams. I felt well prepared thanks to your course [and materials]."
"There is no doubt that attending the seminar was an essential piece in the process to prepare for the exam. It helped me go through the sometimes thick material in the texts, identify the key subjects and obtain a good understanding of the concepts that apply to the practise of professional engineering. The course is well organized, materials are relevant and of excellent quality, presentation is second to none, and follow up is complete. All together, a truly enjoyable learning experience. I would recommend the seminar to all PPE applicants."
"I found the course to be very informative and worth every penny."
"Thanks for a great course. Your lecture skills are outstanding and I found myself paying close attention all weekend. As a result of your course, I feel ten-fold better about going into this exam than I did last week. Any grads I meet over the next few years contemplating the exam will get Delta Seminars as [the] #1 recommendation from me."
"It was a really wonderful weekend! In my case, although I had already read the textbooks (twice), I hadn't understood [some of the law principles] and I believe I wouldn't have without your help. For ethics, you helped me a lot to generate the problem and how to constructively refer to [sections] 72 and 77. Apart from preparation for the exam, I am much more familiar with the law and I believe it will be of great help in private life as well. I would strongly recommend this seminar to colleagues."
"I have to say that I was impressed with the seminar, and particularly with your professionalism all along. It has been worth ever penny and every minute."
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for a fantastic course. It was well worth it. The follow up emails were fantastic. I had a lot of confidence going into the exam."
"I enjoyed your seminar very much. I always like being in the presence of someone who truly enjoys what they are doing in life. [During the weekend] I only looked down at my watch a couple of times, but other than that the time flew by quickly - as the saying goes, "time flies when you're having fun". I feel very confident in writing the PPE ... and am grateful for guidance and all your insights."
"I would like to say that your seminar was very helpful in preparing for the PPE. As well, your lecturing style was excellent ... I firmly believe your seminar should be a pre-requisite to the PPE preparation and examination. It was excellent. The format, with the [provided materials], set the stage for my final preparations, and summarized so much of the material ... [Y]our feedback, responses to email questions, and efforts put in to help us gain a broader understanding of these topics were, again, excellent."
"Just a quick note to say thanks for your support both during and after the seminar. [Y]our approach to both the Ethics and the Law components were very helpful in preparing for the PPE. Particularly, the [provided materials] were of tremendous use. After writing the exam, I felt confident that I had answered all of the questions in a way which would satisfy the PEO."
"I [will] strongly recommend your seminar to anybody who wants to save his/her time and energy. You really did a big job, and I learned a lot during your two-day seminar. You are a real teacher and the seminar was so much to the point, and helped me a lot to reduce my study time. Well-done."
"After [the] seminar, my confidence level more than doubled and my study time reduced to half. The exam went fabulously. Between the seminar and the follow-up [emails] everything was covered ... Once again, thanks. I have spoken your name in good faith to whoever has an interest in the course."
"Thank you for an extraordinary level of [post-seminar] support - much more than I had anticipated."
"[Being] in a room of like-minded individuals was extremely helpful in boosting confidence. As a late writer of the PPE, I felt pretty isolated in all of this. Most of my co-workers either did this right out of school, or had decided years ago that they wouldn't bother, so it's been a solitary task ... picking up on your comment about 'enjoying' the weekend: I had a lot more fun than I thought I would. Thanks for bringing a potentially boring topic to interesting life."
"As to my [experiences of] more than 100 seminars around the world, including law related seminars--chartering, trading, etc.,--this weekend seminar was one of the most focused, well oriented and conducted seminars I have ever attended."
